We are pleased to celebrate the recipients of awards rooted in the core values of Cabrini and the vision of its namesake Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini.
The CHRISTOPHER AWARD FOR EXTRAORDINARY LEADERSHIP is named in reference to Mother Cabrini's dream of launching a ship, The Christopher, to carry Christ's message throughout the world. The award is given to those individuals whose life's work embodies our core values of access to education and service to others.
2019 recipient: Joan M. Buzzallino ('66)
The LUMINARY AWARD-its name inspired by the definition of "luminary" as someone who inspires or lights the way for others-is given to an alumna/ alumnus who has graduated within the previous 20 years. It recognizes those who have inspirational success in their careers, in their communities, and in their impact on others' lives.
2019 recipient: Abel RodrÃguez, JD ('01)
The COMPASS AWARD is given to those who, throughout their lives, have displayed a clear direction in recognizing and respecting the dignity of the human person in the spirit of the Cabrini tradition. It recognizes those whose extended, continuous service promotes and defends dignity for all.
