DESCRIPTION:

The inspiration for Floyd was Frank Lloyd Wright's stained glass designs, specifically, the dining room windows in the Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, IL. The design uses the same earth tone palette Wright used in his autumn sumac design with blue added to represent the color of the sky as seen through the windows. Floyd is a variant of Lloyd, originating from the Welsh name Llwyd.

ARTIST BIO:

Originally from England, Diana Halligan has drawn and painted since childhood. After a career in nursing career, which she continued when she resettled in Ohio, Diana's interest in fine arts led her to study at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. There she found her love of working with oils and studying the Old Masters. She continues to explore the visual arts as an independent photographer focusing on local musicians, and painting in oils.

DESCRIPTION:

The inspiration for Vector Vixen was the mascot of Sweet Briar College, the alma mater of PIN Executive Director, Ann Hill. After a bit of research, Denyse began playing with the fun SBC color combination of hot pink, lime green, and navy blue with some silver added in. The result is a playful ombre pattern that perfectly covers every angle of the form. You don't need to be a Sweet Briar alum to enjoy this sweet little fox!

Denyse Hermanson led Global Brand Design at Procter & Gamble's pet care brands Iams and Eukanuba for 9 years. She designed and executed murals for P&G's Paws for a Cause events at animal welfare agencies throughout Ohio including SPCA Cincinnati and Circle Tail.

DESCRIPTION:

As a hair stylist, in addition to being an artist and painter, Doug wanted to incorporate a '60s hairstyle into his Painted Pet design. Through his searches on the internet, he came across pictures of Brigitte Bardot and her bikini - two iconic symbols of the era - and inspiration was born!

When painting this oversized bench, Jamie let her imagination and paintbrush take over. Instead of just painting cats and dogs, she portrayed the many ways they are a part of our everyday lives and why we love them so much. Taking bits and pieces from some of her earlier paintings, she created a fun and whimsical new design for this large, functional work of art.

Overcoming a lack of confidence was such an amazing feeling but Jamie say that even more gratifying is being able to share her talent to make a difference in the world. Following her passion has allowed her to donate her work to raise more than $56,000 on behalf of animal welfare causes all over the world! (After working on the bench for 7 straight days, through hand cramps, multiple tubes of paint and 4 broken brushes, Jamie says it was totally worth it to help raise money for Pets In Need of Greater Cincinnati.)

These adorable Doxie book ends were inspired by one of Jamie's original paintings, "Books and Weenies". Of the donation requests she receives from all over the world, the most frequent are for artwork featuring Dachshunds. Many of these come from California, Florida, and Canada where shelters and rescues are overflowing with these precious pups.
