A Flavor of Rochester


Big Brothers Big Sisters is happy to announce the 1st Annual The BIG Night Out Gala - A Flavor of Rochester on October 18th at The Wintergarden by Monroe's!

 

The event kicks off at 6:30 P.M. featuring flavors of Rochester, open bar, online auction, live auction, wine pull and so much more! All proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester in providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1 to 1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Jasmine is a 14-year-old female that can be shy at times.  She lives with her mother, father, older sister, and younger brother in Rochester.   Her mom shared that she struggles sharing her feelings and hopes that having a Big will help her be more open. 

She maintains a 3.5 GPA as well as participating in band and chorus.ucy became a Big after hearing about a friend's experience having a Little.   When she was matched with Jasmine, she was working on her PhD from the University of Rochester in developmental psychology and co-parenting studies. 

Jasmine and Lucy are approaching their one-year anniversary as a match.  They share similar interests in baking, attending seasonal activities, and many more.  Lucy has shared that since they have been matched, Jasmine has become more talkative, sharing with her about the things going on in her life, and helping to plan activities, such as finding a place to do go karting.
