Gala presented by Alaska Airlines will be held on February 16, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Southport. UNCF institutions and other HBCUs are highly effective, awarding 20 percent of African American baccalaureate degrees. UNCF administers more than 400 programs, including scholarship, internship and fellowship, mentoring, summer enrichment, and curriculum and faculty development programs.

Today, UNCF supports more than 60,000 students at over 1,100 Colleges and Universities across the country. In the Pacific Northwest Region's office, UNCF supports over 600 UNCF students and scholarship recipients from Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.

UNCF PORTFOLIO PROJECT

UNCF in partnership with College Access Now in Seattle, YMCA Minority Achievers Program in Marysville, YMCA Multi-Cultural Achievers Program in Tacoma, and Leisure Hour Jr. Golf Program in Portland will hosted the 13th annual UNCF Portfolio Project. The Portfolio Project was developed in 2006 to assist 11th and 12th grade students through the college and scholarship application process. The mission of the Portfolio Project is to increase the number of minority and low-income college and scholarship applicants from the states of Oregon and Washington. Ultimately, the program strives to ensure these students create a portfolio that will support their efforts in getting accepted into college and receiving the necessary financial assistance to become successful college graduates.

"The portfolio project provided me with an opportunity to begin building my professional portfolio and understanding how to utilize those skills for after High School and during College. Developing my presentation skills has helped me improve my communication and breaking my fears. The portfolio project gave me hope to get into the school of my dreams."
