OUR HONOREES

Jim Colica and the late Kathy Hanson

We are incredibly grateful to be honoring Jim Colica and his late beloved Kathy Hanson. Jim and Kathy have been beacons of hope and guiding lights for our Academy and the previous Angels scholarship fund since 2007. Their philanthropy has been all-encompassing. In addition to their great generosity, they have demonstrated a deep devotion and personal interest in our students, including the more than 30 CAB Rising Stars students they have sponsored through the years. Their visions have lit the way for our school's growth and continued success by establishing two highly successful after school programs. The Alegre Program introduces our CAB middle schoolers to the performing arts through a robust choir, dance, and theater curriculum, while Faith & Futures provides CAB's youngest students on our St. Raphael Academy campus with access to activities they would not otherwise have the opportunity to try, including soccer, cooking, and martial arts. Jim, a Fordham graduate and Army veteran, spent 27 years at GE Capital as a senior officer. He and Kathy have actively supported other charitable causes primarily in the areas of child and adolescent behavioral health and inner city social services. Jim has three children, six grandchildren, and a great grandson. He is a member of St. Mary Parish in Greenwich.

Proceeds support need-based scholarships at the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport.

We are grateful to our GALA PLANNING COMMITTEE for their leadership:

PRIVATE DONATIONS ALONE make this possible.

85% of Academy families live at or below the poverty level.
