Red Hills Fall Field Day at Avalon

The Red Hills Fall Field Day will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at Avalon Plantation in Lamont, FL. The day will begin with a discussion under the tent, followed by a guided wagon tour with educational field stops, and conclude with lunch under the tent. Guests will have the opportunity to hear from Tall Timbers and Avalon staff while exploring one of the Red Hills region's premier conservation landscapes.

Tour stops will highlight the property's history, biodiversity and species conservation, brood field management, forest stewardship, and other land management practices that support healthy wildlife populations and working landscapes. We welcome you to join us for this unique opportunity to experience firsthand the science and stewardship that have made the Red Hills region internationally recognized for conservation excellence.

Directions:

From Monticello, Florida, travel south on Highway 19 to the intersection of Highway 27 in Capps. Turn left onto Highway 27 and travel approximately one-quarter mile before turning right onto Avalon Road. Continue on Avalon Road for 3.5 miles. After passing Hamrick Road, the road will fork-stay straight and enter through the double gates with brick columns. Follow the main drive up the hill to Avalon Circle and look for event parking signs.
