MANE EVENT FAQs

WHAT IS MANE EVENT?

Mane Event is the biggest fundraiser of the year at Saint Matthew School! This year, our event will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 6:00pm-10:00pm.  This outdoor event will include dinner, drinks, music, a live and a silent auction.

WHO ATTENDS MANE EVENT?

Anyone & everyone - who is an adult! We hope you, your family, and friends can all attend.  Saint Matthew Church parishioners are invited to join the fun, as well as alums, alumni parents, and anyone else interested in supporting our school!

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY TICKET OR SPONSORSHIP PURCHASE?

Ticket/Sponsorship purchase includes dinner, drinks and entertainment.  Sponsors receive a special, limited time party favor. 

Each Sponsorship, Single and Couples ticket will also be entered into our drawing for a first out, lower lot, reserved parking spot. Three winners will be drawn leading up to the event.  The first quarter parking spot will be auctioned off in early August.  

Each winner will have exclusive use of the lower lot first out parking spot for one quarter of the 2026-27 school year. 
 

WHO BENEFITS FROM MANE EVENT?

All proceeds benefit the students at Saint Matthew School!  Historically, Mane Event has raised money for 'extras' to supplement our school's programs.  In the past, we have used the funds to upgrade our STREAM lab, install the middle school courtyard, purchase 3D printers, purchase and operate the bus, update the elementary playground with turf and new fencing, and much more. 

WHAT TO KNOW FOR NOW?

Three important things to keep in mind for now: 1) Register early - once you register on GiveSmart you can begin receiving updates via e-mail and/or text message about auction items, event updates, and more, 2) Purchase your tickets ASAP - once you have your tickets or sponsorship, you will be entered into our drawing for a first out, lower lot, reserved parking spot.  And finally,  3) Save the Date for 10/3/2026!

What is the dress code for the event?

We want everyone who attends to have fun and be comfortable!  The dress code is jeans casual, or if you prefer something dressier, that is ok too!  Have random Cuban attire?   Wear it!

 
Do I need to buy a ticket to bid on items?

Although we hope everyone will purchase a ticket to support SMS, you do not need a ticket to participate in the auction. Simply text 'ManeEvent26' to 76278 to get started. Anyone can register and place bids on silent auction items, so share our website URL and SMS details on social media with friends and family!   

Bidding on our LIVE auction items is reserved for those that attend the event.

Will there be "Live" Auction Items?

Yes.  Our "Live" Auction items are Premier Auction items. Bidding for those items will be available only on Saturday, October 3, at the event. These items will be available for preview at http://www.maneevent26.givesmart.com beginning on September 25th.  Be watching social media in the days leading up to the event, to see featured LIVE/Premier items. 

Will there be Silent Auction Items?

Yes. As in past years, we will have a great selection of silent auction items, including favorites like: Signup parties, items for the home, men, ladies and kids, as well as SMS sponsored items and class art projects! Silent auction will begin Friday, September 25th at http://www.maneevent26.givesmart.com  The silent auction will remain open until October 3, 2026 9:30 p.m. (CST), giving everyone an opportunity to finalize their bids. 

What is the "La Suerte" (The Luck)?

This item is a fixed price item and a limited number only are available for purchase.  Purchase an item for $50 and win a randomly selected item worth $50 or more.  Check the item description to see the possible prizes that you could win.  

 
How do I pick up my auction Items if I am the winning bidder? 

Gift cards and gift certificates for SMS families will be sent through backpack mail, or may be picked up.  Physical items are available for pickup only. Winning bidders will need to pick up their items on October 5/6th at SMS. Winners of items that are physically at the event can pick up their items before departing Saint Matthew School for the evening.  More info will be sent to winning bidders after the event. 

How will I know if I've been outbid?

You will receive a text message if you have been outbid on an item. 

Tip: Streamline and simplify your online bidding! Once you have completed your registration, you can set up an auto bid feature. You enter the maximum you are willing to pay for the item, and the system will bid incrementally up to the amount designated as long as someone else places a bid against you. If no one bids against your auto bid, the price remains the same. If the maximum amount you set is outbid, you will receive a text message and have the opportunity to increase your bid if you desire.
