Ladies of Virtue - Overview

For more than 15 years, we've led the charge in empowering Black girls in some of Chicago's most underserved communities on their journeys to becoming confident, purpose-driven leaders through character development, career readiness, and civic engagement.

In the 2024 - 2025 program year, we served over 3,000 young women and girls (643 enrolled in our leadership program; 2,397 served via our community outreach initiatives).

We are the only organization offering our unique community-based model that integrates culture, one-on-one and group mentoring, leadership development, and mental health support specifically for the needs of Black girls.

Committed to educational advancement, in 2025:

• 100% of our girls have been accepted college
• 95% enrolled in college, trade school, armed forces
• 94% of our girls are placed in summer internship

One unique aspect of Ladies of Virtue is that we incorporate mental health workshops in all of our programs.

Even greater, our impact extends beyond their high-school graduation. We mentor and support our alumni for six additional years to further their development and success.

Through the support of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and community, our impact has been recognized by The Obama Foundation, The University of Chicago, Northwestern Medicine, PepsiCo, the Chicago Innovation Awards, and many more. Most recently, we were honored to be featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Join us to celebrate 15 years of serving Black girls in the Chicagoland area! 

At our annual fundraiser we will honor 8 women with the "Leading with Virtue" award. In addition, Northwestern Medicine will be honored with the Legacy Builders Award.  During this time we will honor the most dynamic women executives, community leaders and entrepreneurs who lead with purpose, passion and perseverance. 

All funds raised from this event will go towards empowering our LOV sisters to become confident and purpose-driven leaders.
