Your Emcee: Lael Wilcox
Ultra-endurance athlete. World record setter. Believer in bicycles.
Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Lael Wilcox first started cycling in college to get to work. That grew into seven years of traveling the world by bicycle before she entered her first ultra-endurance race in 2015.
Since then, Lael has balanced racing and travel with developing programs that encourage women and girls to get out on their own adventures. In 2024, she set the women's Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle.
For Lael, no time on a bike is wasted - whether running errands, riding with friends, or racing at the highest level. Her perspective speaks beautifully to World Bicycle Relief's belief in the Power of Bicycles to open up possibility, connection and opportunity.
