NEW - REF Mahjong Luncheon

While the golfers hit the course, join The Mahjong Set at Rumson Country Club River House for a fun and social afternoon of mahjong benefiting the Rumson Education Foundation. Whether you're a seasoned player or just getting started, there's a seat at the table for you. 

Open Play
Experienced players are invited to gather with friends and enjoy independent play in a relaxed, social setting. To add a little extra excitement to the day, open play participants will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the event. 

• Table Purchase: $800 for 4 seats at a specified open play table
• Individual Seat: $200 per individual seat, to be seated with other open play individual participants
• Guided Play: $200 

For players who know the basics but would appreciate a little extra support, Guided Play offers the perfect next step.

Led by The Mahjong Set founder and lead instructor, along with experienced Table Guides, these tables are designed to help players build confidence and strengthen game rhythm through play. Support will be available for building the wall and dealing tiles, completing the Charleston, selecting hands to play from the National Mahjong League card, and keeping the game moving and answering questions. The goal is to learn, laugh, connect, and leave feeling more comfortable at the table.

Come dine & shop with us from 11am-12pm, including a riverside buffet lunch and beverages, while socializing and perusing curated local vendors. Mahjong will begin at 12:00 pm.

Whether you're chasing your first mahjong or your fiftieth, we can't wait to welcome you to the table.
