A Preview of our 2026 Real Heroes

Youth Good Samaritan Heroes

Ayham Alzanam and Alksaam Alterri

When 13-year-old cousins Ayham Alzanam and Alksaam Alterri saw a young girl struggling in the water at Proctor Park, they immediately jumped into action and helped save her from drowning. Their courage, quick thinking, and willingness to help someone in danger demonstrate that heroism has no age limit.

Adult Good Samaritan Hero

Kevin Horan

When Kevin Horan spotted an unconscious driver in a vehicle near Boonville, he immediately sprang into action, stopping to help and staying with the driver until emergency responders arrived. His quick thinking and willingness to step in during a frightening situation exemplify the compassion and courage of a true Good Samaritan.

Blood Services Hero

Maria Marcellus

After being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia, Maria Marcellus endured 30 days in the hospital and 108 chemotherapy infusions before reaching remission. Her experience showed her firsthand the lifesaving power of blood donation, inspiring her to share her story and encourage others to give blood so patients facing their own medical battles can have a second chance.
