The 30th Annual Party at Arrowhead benefits the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline, a program of the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission (KCMCC). The KCMCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission to power a safer, better greater Kansas City. For more than 4 decades, the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline has been working to keep our communities safe by providing a safe and anonymous outlet for good citizens to provide information without fear of retaliation.
WHO WE HELP
The Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers program is an invaluable asset to our communities in the fight against crime. Many people, however, are hesitant to share what they know due to fear of retaliation or apathy. Crime Stoppers breaks through the barriers of fear and apathy by allowing individuals complete anonymity and providing cash incentives in exchange for information leading to an arrest. It pays to do the right thing!
SCHOLASTIC TIPS PROGRAM
Crime Stoppers also has a Scholastic TIPS program which allows students to anonymously report crimes via the P3 TIPS app. School Resource Officers are able to quickly respond to threats and prevent tragedies from occurring. The Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers Scholastic TIPS Program has prevented an astounding 20 suicides from occurring and 2 mass school violence incidents. This invaluable program allows quick response and is actively saving the lives of young people in our community.
IT'S WORKING
- 177,260 anonymous TIPS received
- 688 homicides solved
- Over 11,678 felony arrests made
- 25,864 felony cases cleared
- $1,790,180 in cash rewards paid
- 610 of KC's Most Wanted caught
- 4,037 fugitives captured
- 20 teen suicides prevented
- 2 potential mass school violence incidents prevented
- Now over 200 participating schools in the Scholastic TIPS program - and continuing to grow!
- In Partnership with the Metro Chiefs & Sheriffs Association, more than $60,000 in college scholarships have been awarded to-date to area High School Seniors from both Missouri & Kansas
IT TAKES ALL OF US
Crime Stoppers relies on cooperation between the police, the media, and the community to provide a flow of information about criminal activity. Opening that line of communication by submitting an anonymous TIP can mean everything to the victims of crime and plays an immeasurable role in making Kansas City a safer place.
