A trio from Bordeaux's Left Bank: the 1982 Cos d'Estournel of Saint-Estephe, the 1990 Chateau Leoville Barton of Saint-Julien, and the 1986 Chateau Gruaud Larose, also of Saint-Julien. All three communes sit along the Gironde estuary, where gravel-rich soils and a moderating maritime climate produce Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines known for their structure and longevity. Each of these wines carries critic ratings in the low-to-mid 90s and has been cellared at 57 degrees since release, showing the elegant, complex character that decades of proper storage can bring to great Bordeaux.
