The Jay Sigel Invitational is celebrating 34 years of advocacy and continuous support of one of the premier cancer research programs in the country, the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute (AFCRI). AFCRI is the research arm of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, a world leader in cancer treatment and patient care.
AFCRI's primary goal is to transform scientific breakthroughs into innovative cancer treatments. Researchers and physicians work in comprehensive teams dedicated to ultimately curing multiple types of cancer.
Jay Sigel, founder of the Jay Sigel Invitational, passed away after his own battle with cancer on April 19th, 2025. A golf legend and compassionate leader, Jay created the framework to continue to raise funds for cancer research at the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at Penn Medicine. His vision and dedication touched countless lives.
Thanks to Jay's vision, our donors, and fundraising efforts the Invitational has raised $5.4 million to benefit pancreatic, breast and prostate cancer research initiatives.
