You can still participate in the auction! The death of a baby is a heartbreak beyond words-an unimaginable loss that forever changes a family. In the midst of this profound grief, Mothers of Held Angels (MOHA) exists to ensure that no family has to navigate those moments alone.
At the heart of our work is the MOHA Angel Experience, a compassionate, hospital-based support system designed to surround families with comfort, dignity, and love during their time of loss. This experience includes four essential elements. First, a CuddleCot-a specialized cooling device that gently extends the time parents can spend holding, loving, and saying goodbye to their baby. Second, a MOHA Angel Box, thoughtfully curated with comfort items and memory-making tools that honor the life of their child. Third, a trained MOHA Angel Ambassador-a mother who has experienced loss herself-who sits at the bedside to listen and provide heartfelt bereavement companionship and support. Finally, MOHA offers bereavement education and in-service training to hospital staff, helping create more compassionate care for grieving families.
Mothers of Held Angels is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Compassion, empathy, and understanding are not only our values-they are the foundation of everything we do.
Our Mission
The mission of Mothers of Held Angels is to give a voice to grieving mothers who have experienced the profound loss of holding their baby after passing. We aim to provide immediate day-of-loss resources and ongoing bereavement support for all family members, while raising public awareness about the heart-wrenching realities of stillbirth and neonatal loss. About the 2026 Angels Among Us Gala
Drs. Rachel and Warren Ellsworth - Chairs
Friday, May 1, 2026, 6 - 9 PM at the Crystal Ballroom
909 Texas Ave #106f, Houston, TX 77002
From the MOHA Gala Chairs: Drs. Rachel and Warren Ellsworth:
"Supporting grieving mothers means recognizing both the depth of their pain and the need for gentle, faithful presence. Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18 that "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit", offering reassurance that God draws near in moments of profound loss. This promise encourages communities to reflect the same closeness-listening without judgment, offering comfort without rushing healing, and walking alongside mothers as they navigate grief with compassion and hope."
