Beth White served as a catechist for Ascension Religious Education, working in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. Beth also served as a long term substitute in first grade.

In the Fall of 2006 she joined the Ascension Faculty as a third grade teacher, sharing the 3rd grade classroom with Colleen Bracco. For ten years Beth devoted herself to teaching Math, Science, Social Studies and Religion to the 3rd graders at Ascension. She and Colleen made an amazing team.

Beth always felt a calling to support students with learning needs, and in 2018 she returned to school to become a Learning Behavior Specialist. Through her studies and her own experience both as a parent and as a teacher, Beth developed the Student Services program and became the first Director of Student Services.

Beth's commitment to the success of all students impacted the students, families, and faculty and staff at Ascension. Beth recruited a robust group of volunteers to work in classrooms, added a program of afterschool math tutoring with Fenwick students, and enrolled Ascension in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Math quarterly math competition to name a few of her contributions. Her work with student services helped Ascension be recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. Beth also served on the Committee that prepared the Blue Ribbon application.

Beth and her husband Bob are the proud parents of Jonas and Justin (Kelly) and are looking forward to becoming grandparents later this spring...

On February 7, the Ascension School community will join together for our annual Blue Tie Gala.

This year we are elated to honor Beth White. Beth taught third grade at Ascension for 10 years before becoming a certified Learning Behavior Specialist and Ascension's first Director of Student Services. Inspired by her struggles to find the right educational services for her own son and her belief that all students can be successful, Beth was a staunch advocate for students, a great resource and support to teachers, and an ally and comfort to families. Beth's work had an enormous impact on student outcomes and Ascension's qualification for the National Blue Ribbon Award.

It is our honor to recognize Beth's outstanding achievements at the Blue Tie Gala, and we hope you can join us.
