12TH ANNUAL MS AUCTION

On behalf of the Halpern family and entire staff of Albert's Diamond Jewelers, we would like to thank you for your support of our Annual Auction for MS. Last year was our best year EVER! There were over 600 individuals, local businesses and vendors who joined together to raise over $181,000 to fight this devastating disease. Donna Halpern, the wife of Fred and the mother of Josh and Holly, has been living with MS for close to forty years. Finding a cure for Donna has become a passion and part of our mission. Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic, often a progressive, disabling, debilitating disease that attacks the central nervous system. At onset, symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, and later progress to severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. Now more than ever, there is cause for great optimism in the battle against MS with new and cutting edge medications and treatment on the way to market in the next five to seven years. In 2014 clinical trials of myelin repair strategy for MS were launched. This year, a clinical trial co-funded by the MS Society suggests a pill used to treat epilepsy (phenytoin) has the potential to slow the accumulation of disability in people with MS. Two years ago, the Halpern family was inducted into the National MS Society Volunteer Hall Of Fame. The combined efforts of the Halpern family, Albert's employees, clients, vendors and friends, has raised close to $900,000 for this cause. Albert's Diamond Jewelers will be holding its 12th Annual MS Auction on Sunday, October 4th, 2015. Once again, we are asking for your help. Unlike many charity and fundraising efforts, 100% of every dollar raised during this event goes directly to MS. All event and promotional expenses are covered by Albert's, its friends, volunteers, and partners. Your support means so very much in making the Auction for MS a success.
