Strength in Unity

This December, Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) and Casa San José are teaming up to raise awareness and funds to support two of our community's most essential services.

Both organizations share a deep commitment to healing, safety, and human dignity, and often serve individuals and families navigating systems that can feel overwhelming and isolating. Together, they work to ensure that every person-regardless of background, status, or circumstance-has access to care, advocacy, and belonging.

PAAR provides trauma-informed therapy, advocacy, crisis intervention, and prevention education for survivors of sexual violence across Allegheny County. Their work helps survivors reclaim their lives and begin the process of healing with safety, compassion, and empowerment.

Casa San José is a community resource center that supports and advocates for Latino immigrants in the Pittsburgh region through case management, legal navigation, youth programs, and leadership development. Their mission is rooted in justice, resilience, and community-building, ensuring that immigrant families are not only surviving-but thriving and leading.

Many of the individuals served by PAAR and Casa San José benefit from the care and advocacy both organizations provide. Immigrant survivors of sexual violence often face unique barriers to healing and justice - from language and cultural challenges to fear of deportation or discrimination. Through collaboration and shared compassion, PAAR and Casa San José help bridge those gaps, ensuring that every survivor has access to safety, support, and a path forward.

By supporting Champions of Change, you're helping expand these vital services and strengthening the safety net for our most vulnerable neighbors. Your contribution directly fuels trauma care, legal advocacy, and community programs that foster a safer, more inclusive Pittsburgh.

Together, we are building a city where healing, rights, and resilience belong to everyone.

Why Giving Tuesday Matters
