Dr. Frank P. Cammisa, Jr.

A devoted student sponsor through CAB's Rising Stars program, key supporter of events, and advocate of the endowment, Dr. Cammisa has changed countless lives in Bridgeport. He also has had tremendous impact professionally as a spine surgeon. He is chief emeritus of Spine at Hospital for Special Surgery and a Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. A graduate of Tufts University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, he is credited with introducing many innovative techniques, such as total disc replacement
as an alternative to spinal fusion surgery. He has led extensive research in many areas of spine surgery and founded the Integrated Spine Research Program at HSS. He is on the medical staff of the NY Giants and NY Mets, and is a consultant to the National Hockey League Players Association. He lives in Greenwich and has three grown children: Annie, Trey and Jack.

The Catholic Academy of Bridgeport has graduated hundreds of smart, talented alumni who have gone on to successful careers in the field of medicine. We are delighted to be honoring some of them at our gala.

to provide scholarships to the 96% of its 900 inner-city students who qualify. 
PRIVATE DONATIONS ALONE make this possible.

87% of Academy families live at or below the poverty level.
$39K is the mean family income for a student at CAB.
