Join us on March 3, 2026
for this Virtual Event!

12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. CST

Now in its 25th year, Heroes in the Heartland honors individuals who have saved another person's life within the past year or have positively impacted the quality of life in the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metro area or Southeast Nebraska.

Please join our 2026 Heroes Honorary Chairs, Dawn and Sid Dinsdale, and those in our community who exemplify the Red Cross humanitarian spirit.

Families impacted by disasters-large and small-receive critical relief in times of great need. From safe shelter and nourishing meals to emotional support and financial assistance, your generosity brings comfort and hope when it matters most.  Beyond disaster response, your gift strengthens every part of our mission. Powered by dedicated volunteers and generous supporters, we are there for nearly every imaginable crisis:

A family whose home burns in a fire is given shelter, food, and comfort

An accident victim receives lifesaving blood

A deployed military hero is reconnected with family members in crisis

A neighbor in cardiac arrest receives lifesaving CPR

A vulnerable child across the globe gets the measles and rubella vaccine
