Project by Project - Los Angeles is excited to bring back our restaurant series! We are partnering with Pikunico, a Japanese-style fried chicken restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Over the past month, restaurants like Pikunico have been negatively affected by local and national policies. We aim to reactivate the downtown core by bringing new and returning patrons to the area.
We are hosting a dinner at the restaurant on Friday night, 8/8 (A very auspicious day!). Tickets include a buffet-style dinner, accompanied by non-alcoholic beverages. Attendees can purchase alcoholic drinks at the bar.
Menu:
- Fried Chicken Classic
- Fried Chicken Light
- Fried Kabocha
- Ginger Rice
- Housemade Yuzu-Ade
- Pikunico Slaw
- Seaweed & Cucumber Salad
Not included:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Additional food items
About Pikunico
Pikunico is the highly anticipated first standalone passion project of Chef Kuniko Yagi, open at the mixed-use ROW DTLA complex in Downtown LA (on Alameda and 7th street). Borne from the acclaimed chef's best childhood memories of eating Japanese-style fried chicken with her grandmother on the weekends, Pikunico offers house made karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) served in a sandwich or basket along with market-driven salads, sides and desserts. Like its name (a playful combination of "picnic" and "Kuniko") suggests, the shop offers large-format, family-style baskets ideal for large groups and gatherings.
About Project by Project
Founded in 1998, Project by Project (PbP) is a 100% volunteer-based leadership development incubator aimed at building a pipeline of Asian Americans in philanthropy. Through innovative platforms for hands-on and skills-based volunteering, PbP fosters AAPI civic engagement and advocacy by leveraging our volunteers to serve local nonprofits in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Each year, PbP selects a national campaign to champion. We select a local AAPI nonprofit partner in our respective cities to develop a year-long campaign, helping the partner fundraise, raise awareness, and build capacity. In doing so, we develop leadership and professional skills for our volunteer Steering Committee in event planning, marketing, community relations, advocacy, and fundraising.
