The beacon from this lighthouse first shone on May 13, 1868. The Sand Point Lighthouse along the extreme upper reaches of Lake Michigan is a story-and-a-half rectangular building with an attached brick tower featuring a cast iron lantern room with a fourth order Fresnel lens that emitted a fixed red light with a radiating power of 11.5 miles. No longer a navigational aid, the lighthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places. This original 16 x 20 print is matted, framed, signed by the artist and comes with a certificate noting its inclusion in the exhibit.
