Guy Peterson was one of those rare souls whose presence made the world brighter. If you ever had the honor of meeting him, you'd know that he was more than just a kind and caring man-he was someone you could always count on, and someone you'd be proud to call a friend.

A devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal friend, and a true cowboy through and through, Guy was known for his hard work, big heart, and the kind of genuine smile that could lift anyone's spirits. He always showed up ready to lend a hand without hesitation - and handy he was! He had a true gift with horses and working cattle.

On April 8, 2025, Guy tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a horse accident. His passing has left a deep hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Katherine, their daughter Helen, son Isaac, and their third child-a baby boy-due this July.

We know that many of you, from near and far, are looking for ways to honor Guy's memory and support his young family during this incredibly difficult time. In response, we have set up a few ways to donate:

• Bid up on some amazing items that have been donated by friends and family members. Online Auction will close out starting at 6 PM CT on April 19th. Link to page with all listings

• An account in the name of Petersen Benefit Account at Citizens Bank in Tucumcari, NM (211 E Main St, Tucumcari, NM 88401). Contributions can also be made at any Citizens Bank branch in Amarillo, TX.

• A Ranch Rodeo Benefit will be held on Saturday May 31st at 11AM in Hayden, NM. Contact Kayla Griggs 303-242+7536 for more info.

Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express. All proceeds will go to his wife Katherine and the kids.

This Auction has a horse race style finish. Every time someone bids during the last 5 minutes of the auction the clock will extend 5 more minutes until no one bids for an entire 5 minutes. Please note that this countdown duration may be changed without notice during the auction.

SmartAuctions will invoice all buyers and release the lot after payment is received. PAYMENT IS DUE UPON RECEIPT. A credit/debit card will be required ONLY to verify identity of bidders, but you will not be charged for your purchases on your card UNLESS you choose that option or you have not paid for your purchases prior to 12 days after the auction closes. Your credit card will be charged if payment has not been received within 12 days after purchase or arrangements have not been communicated. If your credit card payment is declined at the 12 days your purchase will accrue an interest of 6%. If you pay with a card you will be charged a 5% transaction fee.
