Fall 24 Angus Bull

Camco Cattle in Nara Visa, NM is offering first pick out of their 2024 calf crop of Registered Black Angus Bulls (18 month old bulls for spring of 2026 breeding season). The majority of these calves will be ET calves out of Camco's personal donor cows (purchased from Coleman Angus in Charlo MT) and a select few that are out of Coleman's donor cows. Sire groups will include Coleman Below Zero, Coleman Glacier 041, Coleman Ranger and Coleman Resource 708. We would also be willing to let someone choose a 2 year old out of a few of our personal bulls if they would prefer that instead.

Camco has based the registered cattle operation off trying to produce the best females we can. Our opinion is a lot of angus producers have lost the maternal side of the genetics by chasing EPD's. While in theory, those calves can do better in the feed lot. It leaves the ranchers with a cow that is less productive on the pasture. After all if cattle can gain on grass they can gain on grain but it doesn't always work the other way around. Our goal is to maximize both the steers you send to the feedlot and the heifers you retain into your cowherd which in turn affects your bottom line in the years to come. That is why when we were looking through all the Angus cowherd's and doing our research, we ended up choosing Coleman Angus as the main base for our registered cowherd. We believe in the maternal ability of these cows, the fleshing ability they have and also the fertility and udder quality all packed into a moderate size which are all things that help a rancher make money.

While we are a small Registered angus herd we believe our cattle speak for themselves as our goal is quality over quantity. Our registered cows are not pampered. They are all turned out with our commercial Cattle so no special treatment is taking place they have to excel in the pasture under the same conditions as our commercial herd. 2024 Super Spoonful Gelding

This is an exceptional gelding that is bred to excel in the performance pen! He is sired by PRF Spoonful of Gold (Rockstar), the 2015 "World's Greatest Horseman Champion" (ridden by Corey Cushing) and earner of over $110,000 in reined cowhorse. Prior to being acquired by S Ranch, Rockstar only bred a handful of select mares. Of that limited number of foals, one of his produce won an NRCHA World Championship in the $5k non-pro limited class. Rockstar's foals are smart, trainable and can STOP!

"Twix" real nice 2 year old buttermilk buckskin filly with all black feet. She has been in training around 90 days with Matlock Rice. Twix is showing lots of potential.

2024 Bay Mare

CABALLO DRIFTER is a 2024 brown filly.

This is a nice yearling filly that is perfect in every way. She has lots of shape and a big kind eye. When she matures she should have enough size and speed to be competitive in any event. She has been raised out in big country and has learned how to travel and take care of herself. The cowboys here go to work everyday riding horses that are related to her and they load them up and go to rodeos on the weekends.

Both of her parent's pedigrees represent generations of Babbitt breeding.

Her sire is the Babbitt Ranch raised stallion CABALLO DRIFT. We ranch and rope on this stallion and the kids ride him. He is a big kind horse with lots of speed and athletic ability. We have been very proud of all his offspring.

Her dam is out of an own daughter of COWBOY DRIFT, the stallion who has been the backbone of the horse program for decades.

Brian was reared in the Ft. Worth, Texas, area and graduated from Richland High School in 1978. He has worked or day worked on some of Texas' largest and most prestigious ranches all his adult life, including the Four Sixes, Tongue River, Waggoner, and Masterson ranches. Although he has been drawing since very young, it wasn't until '92 that he decided to take it more seriously.
