What is Dream Shot?
Dream Shot is an annual fundraising event put on by the Denver Dream Center where our founder, Pastor Bryan Sederwall, shoots free throws for 10 hours. This event brings in members of the community to support Pastor Bryan as he shoots, as well as partake in basketball games and challenges. Professional athletes, police officers, public officials, and churches are just a few examples of who partakes in this event. Money raised from this event will go towards programs we have that combat youth violence and gang influence in our city.
What is our cause?
Dream Shot was created with the rise of youth violence in mind. From homicides, to sexual assaults, to robberies at gunpoint, the violent crimes committed by young people have risen sharply during the last few years, especially in our own state. The number of young people brought in on charges for homicide and manslaughter increased by 53% from last year in Colorado. This is not a problem that will go away on its own.
What does your support mean?
Donations for Dream Shot will go towards programs and opportunities for youth directly affected by violence, gangs, and poverty. As youth violence continues to rise in Denver, the need for alternatives for the youth does too. By supporting Dream Shot, you are supporting our programs that offer sports, mentorship, and safe places for the youth of our city.
