Prepare to be swept away by the swirling, vibrant energy of this celestial mosaic masterpiece, a breathtaking recreation of Van Gogh's iconic Starry Night!
This extraordinary piece isn't just a painting; it's a magnificent tapestry of talent woven together by 28 budding artists from Emily's 4th grade class. Using rich, luminous oil pastels, each student contributed a unique square to form a stunning, cohesive whole. Like the constellations themselves, every individual tile is a star-bursting with color, unique in texture, and reflecting the singular spirit of its young creator. The result is a dynamic, layered work where Van Gogh's genius meets the joyful, unbridled imagination of a new generation. Beautifully framed and ready to hang, this is your chance to own a vibrant piece of collaborative school history.
Yeehaw! Get ready to saddle up for a night of mystery, mayhem, and mouth-watering BBQ at the Hower Residence on March 28th!
We're rounding up a posse of 12 sharp-shooters. Dust off your boots, grab your ten gallon hats, and come dressed in your best Western wear for a dinner and a heart pounding murder mystery game of "whodunnit." Your hosts, Wendy and Justin from Emily's 4th grade class, are throwing open their backyard gates for an unforgettable evening under the stars. Pit Master Justin will fire up his legendary 100+ gallon BBQ rig to serve a smoky spread of ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, and spatchcock chicken-customized to the winners' tastes. Sip expertly paired wines while you feast and laugh your way through a thrilling Western whodunit led by the one and only Chancellor of Cards and Games, Anisa. Saddle up, sleuths-it's gonna be a rootin'-tootin' good time!
Letting their fingers do the walking, Room 18 students are recreating a relief map of our beautiful state of California.
Modeling the painting style made famous by George Seurat called pointillism, students will be using fingertips to paint points of color. Each individual point comes together to make a whole, much like the community of Washington Open.
Ever dream of calling the shots at school? Here's your chance!
One lucky student winner from Emily's class will become Teacher for a Day! It's Freaky Friday Room 16 edition! They'll command the whiteboard, lead lessons, repeat the words, "make good choices," and have fun along the way. The two will meet after school the week before to plan this epic day of switched up fun.
Each student artist hand-crafted a one-of-a-kind porcelain plate by mixing various colors of speckled dragonfruit clays with Venus white porcelain clay.
You will find an artist statement enclosed with your purchase, explaining the inspiration for the piece. Some plates received further embellishment with underglaze painting, while some artists chose to let the natural beauty of the dragonfruit clay be the focus. The low absorbance clays used here are often used for tableware, and form a water-tight surface after reaching their vitrification temperature of over 2000F in the kiln. In a second stage they were glazed with a food-safe lead-free glass coating.
Dishwasher safe, but as with all fine porcelain tableware, hand-washing is recommended to preserve the life and beauty of your new favorite plate.
