Join Blessings in a Backpack on May 9, 2025, at Alaqua Country Club in Longwood, Florida, for an exclusive opportunity to be part of a truly prestigious event. This is more than just a tournament-it's one of only two qualifiers in the United States for the world-renowned Duke of Edinburgh Cup, an elite international golf competition.
Even if you're not vying for the grand prize, this event is an opportunity to golf with purpose-ensuring children have hunger-free weekends. Your participation directly helps the Blessings in a Backpack Orlando Chapter provide kids in Central Florida with the nutrition they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

1:30 p.m. Shootout and Awards Luncheon
STABLEFORD FORMAT (This is an individual competition to determine the top two Grand Prize winners. All men, including seniors, will play from the same tees, and all women will play from the women's tees)
"Stableford" is a scoring system that awards points for the number of strokes taken on each hole in relation to par, rather than simply counting your strokes. The goal in Stableford scoring is to have the highest score.
Standard Stableford points values are:
0 Points - Double Bogey or Worse (Two strokes or more over par)
1 Point - Bogey (One stroke over par)
2 Points - Par
3 Points - Birdie (One stroke under par)
4 Points - Eagle (Two strokes under par)
CONTESTS
- Par 3 Closest-to-the-Pin (five winners)
- Longest Drive (one winner)
- Putting Contest (one winner)
SHOOTOUT (this has nothing to do with the Duke of Edinburgh Cup)
Nine players advance to the Shootout.
- Seven contest winners
- Two raffle winners
PRIZES
The winning foursome, contest winners, and shootout winner will all receive prizes. We will use individual scores to tabulate group scores to determine the winning foursome.
GRAND PRIZE
The top two golfers with a handicap who finish with the highest Stableford scores will be invited to play at the Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals in England.

September 27 to October 2, 2025

In the Orlando area, nearly 50,000 kids are at risk of going hungry this weekend. These kids rely on their school's free meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. What happens to these kids when schools close on Fridays? Who will feed the kids this weekend? Together, we will!
