Healthy Beginnings Start Here...The Campaign for Maternity Care.

San Antonio Regional Hospital continues to keep pace with the growing healthcare demands of our region. While many hospitals throughout the nation have closed their maternity units, we are committed to meeting the maternal health needs of our diverse community. San Antonio currently delivers an average of 1,800 newborns per year. Today's healthcare consumers have many options when it comes to where they deliver their baby. We want San Antonio to be their hospital of choice.

While our existing maternity department has served us well for de - cades, outdated infrastructure and evolving patient expectations now compel us to embark on a capital campaign for a new state-of-the-art, comprehensive maternity unit. The project is anticipated to be a multi-million-dollar expenditure. San Antonio Hospital Foundation is committed to raising $10 million toward this goal.

San Antonio's new maternity unit will be equipped with advanced technology, along with floorplans that allow for efficiency in care, workspace for clinical teams, and privacy for patients and their families. Postpartum rooms will be light and bright, with patio access to fresh air and sunshine to promote healing and wellbeing.

The unit's design will feature a separate emergency department dedicated solely to our maternity patients. Plans also include private neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) rooms where parents can stay with their NICU babies, a concept that has been shown to reduce infections in vulnerable infants, decrease hospital stays, and increase parental bonding.

A Healthy Beginning Starts with Naming Opportunities from its inception, San Antonio Regional Hospital has relied on the generosity of donors like you who lead in our philanthropic efforts and invest in the future of medical care for our community. Whether you wish to leave your own legacy, or make a donation memorializing a loved one, let us collaborate on a naming opportunity that is meaningful for you and your family.

Pledges to our capital campaign for Maternity Care can be made for up to five years. Gifts in the form of cash, stock, personal property or real estate, retained life estate, and qualified charitable distribution from an IRA or from a donor-advised fund are welcomed. No gift is too small.
