Bierstadt Peak Print
$160Mount Bierstadt, 14,060': Viewed from the north. On the tribal lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho
ARTIST NOTES: On a hike I took fifty years ago, I gave up trying to fight my way through the willow swamp at Bierstadt's base in Guanella Pass. Today the swamp has been bridged and boardwalked, and now Bierstadt is a favorite first-time 14er. The current challenge: Slowing the erosion caused by all those boot prints. Views from the top are awe-inspiring. The people- and mountain-goat watching are great too.

Elbert Southeast Peak Print
$160Mount Elbert, 14,443': Viewed from the southeast. On the tribal lands of the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho.
ARTIST NOTES: Looking for Colorado cred? Mount Elbert is the state's highest peak. Like Mount Evans, it is named for a Colorado governor with a bad reputation for his mistreatment of the state's First People. Elbert is a long, steep slog to the summit, so if you make it, you deserve a poster. And maybe a nice meal in Aspen, just to the west, over Independence Pass.
