This one's a real doozy. Chaney supported HB 49, which essentially says, "Why hire adults when we can put kids to work?" That's right-she thinks child labor is a solid way to fix workforce shortages. Forget fighting for fair wages and safer work environments, she's out here trying to recreate a Dickens novel. "Oliver Twist" didn't ask for more jobs, Linda, he asked for more food.
Now, Lynn wants to hit us with an $820 million rate hike, courtesy of the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC). I guess Duke Energy's motto is, "If you're not broke, we're not trying hard enough." They're expecting an extra $400 million in revenue between 2025 and 2027-because apparently, those billions they're already making just aren't enough. They've even backed radioactive roads! Maybe they think we need to glow in the dark to save on electricity. Lynn Good? More like Lynn "Not So" Good.
Wostal is the guy who led the fight against a school referendum that would have provided critical funding to keep public schools from falling apart. His solution? Privatize, privatize, privatize. You've heard of "No Child Left Behind"? Wostal's motto is "Every School Left Behind." He's also waged war on nonprofits, affordable housing, and pretty much anything else that could actually help people. Wostal-where "thinking outside the box" means putting kids in one.
In September alone, she was hired by Hilton Hotels for a $42,000 "audit" at their Anaheim Embassy and by Rivers Casino in Virginia to stop restaurant employees from unionizing. Nunn also worked for Box Partners in Illinois, charging $425 an hour to fight a warehouse union drive. Despite her efforts, workers voted to unionize anyway. Nunn's relentless anti-union crusade shows she's more interested in crushing worker power than supporting their rights-definitely a Scrooge move!
She started the last legislative session by saying, "Medicaid expansion? Not on my watch!" That's right, while 40 other states saw the light and expanded Medicaid, Passidomo decided Floridians could just deal with crushing healthcare costs. You know, because nothing says "Merry Christmas" like telling families they can't afford to see a doctor. Passidomo is out here putting corporate profits over people's health faster than you can say "bah humbug."
