About our 2024 Partner Charity:

The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of East Central Wisconsin provides court ordered
advocacy services to child victims of abuse and neglect. Sanctioned under Wisconsin law, CASA
volunteers have the unique statutory ability to assist the court and provide factual information about
the child directly to the judge, attorneys, social workers and other case parties.
The mission of CASA is to protect the best interests of children who have experienced abuse and/or
neglect and help ensure the children (1) are safe in their current placement (2) receive the services they
need to overcome the effects of neglect and/or abuse, and (3) find a safe, stable and permanent home.
Protecting the rights and safety of abused and neglected children is one of society's most fundamental
obligations and is a crucial component of a healthy, thriving community. Through advocacy,
collaboration, and coordination of services, CASA volunteers have the ability to help build
resiliency and hope by demonstrating healthy adult/child relationships and by making sure the
child has a safe physical and emotional environment at home, in schools and in their
surroundings. CASA volunteers have one purpose: to elevate the voice of the children and
youth they serve by advocating for the needs and wants of the young people on their case. A
CASA Advocate serves one child, youth, or sibling group. It is this focus that allows them to
understand even the smallest details of the case and the complex network of relationships
connected to the children and youth.

"To give a child a CASA is to give them a voice. To give them a voice is to give them hope.
And to give them hope is to give them the world. I believe that with all my heart."
- Pamela Butler, former foster youth
