Our campus is committed to fostering literacy through engaging, hands-on resources that support both independent and guided learning. The Yoto player is an innovative, screen-free audio tool that would enhance our literacy stations by offering students an accessible, interactive way to listen to age-appropriate books, stories, and educational audio content. This tool would allow students to develop listening comprehension, expand vocabulary, and engage with diverse storytelling formats. Using Yoto in literacy stations would enable differentiated learning, giving teachers the ability to incorporate audio resources that align with individual student needs and grade-level goals. The Yoto’s selection of content also aligns well with our curriculum, providing an array of audiobooks and literacy-focused activities that students can explore independently or in small groups. This grant will provide a classroom with a Yoto, headphones, books, and the Yoto cards to foster independent learning, enhance our literacy stations, and support the development of essential literacy skills for all students.
