You can see it in the way we teach, we love to learn! This is why the six Media Integration Specialists (MISs) of Friendswood ISD are seeking funding to cover the registration costs to attend the Texas Library Association's Annual Conference in Houston in 2026. This premier event offers invaluable professional development opportunities, featuring workshops, keynote speakers, and networking sessions that focus on the latest trends and best practices in library services.
Attending this conference will empower our MISs to enhance authentic learning experiences for our students. By gaining insights into innovative programming, digital literacy, and diverse collection development, we can better serve our community's needs. The knowledge and skills acquired at this conference will directly impact our ability to create engaging, inclusive, and effective learning environments in our libraries.
Moreover, the collaboration and exchange of ideas among librarians from various districts will foster a culture of continuous improvement within our team. As we share what we learn with our colleagues and implement new strategies, we will strengthen our collective capacity to support students’ educational journeys and inspire a love of reading, technology, media, and learning. Ultimately, investing in our professional development is an investment in the future of our students and the entire Friendswood community.
