We need some small footballs for our football unit in PE. Our younger students and those that are smaller need light weight, smaller footballs so they can be successful as they learn how to throw, catch, kick, and play football related games. Having enough smaller footballs for multiple groups will keep all students actively engaged as they enjoy physical fitness during PE class!

Puzzles will help students recognize the shape and location of the 50 states. This puzzle will also help students reinforce the knowledge and concepts learned in class. Puzzles are engaging, hands on and promote out of the box thinking. They will also help with memory recall and visual perception of all our 50 states.

Have you ever been looking for a book that was like the one you just read? What better place to start than by looking for one in the same genre. This grant would provide the materials to label the Cline library chapter books into the genres of fantasy, sci fi, humor, sport, mystery, spooky, historical fiction, and realistic fiction. Labeling a library's chapter book collection by genre can significantly enhance student achievement by fostering a more engaging and personalized reading experience. When students can easily identify and navigate genres that resonate with their interests such as fantasy, mystery, or historical fiction they are more likely to develop a love for reading. This accessibility encourages frequent visits to the library and promotes independent reading, which is crucial for improving literacy skills. Additionally, genre labeling supports differentiated learning. Students at varying reading levels can explore books suited to their interests and abilities, facilitating a more inclusive environment. For reluctant readers, visually distinct genres can pique curiosity and motivate them to explore new titles. Overall, implementing a genre labeling system in our chapter book collection will not only simplify access to literature but also cultivate a reading culture that supports academic success and lifelong learning. Investing in colored labels for our library will yield long-term benefits for our students' educational experiences.

Hello! Bonjour! Hola! Hallo! Kamusta! Marhaban! Our students are eager to learn the languages of the world around them and so the library is hoping to add 20 language books to our library collection. With your support, I aim to provide two copies (four of Sign Language) of each language learning book in nine different languages so students may choose to learn alongside a friend. The languages include Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, French, German, Mandarin, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. This initiative will allow students to explore diverse cultures and languages while encouraging collaborative learning through shared reading experiences. By engaging with these materials, students will develop critical language skills, foster empathy, and build global awareness, developing a greater appreciation of the world around them. Investing in these books will empower our young learners and encourage them to embark on a journey of language discovery and cultural appreciation together.

Feeling the fatigue of the workday? Sometimes we can all use a break. Let's give our students the opportunity to turn those breaks into Book Breaks! Book Break is a digital author visit service, a unique program that provides our students with monthly virtual visits from a diverse array of authors. With Book Break, each grade level will hear from nine different writers/illustrators per year. This innovative service aims to ignite a passion for reading and writing while enhancing literacy engagement in our school. Each month, Book Break not only introduces students to contemporary authors but also creates authentic learning experiences by allowing them to interact directly with the creators of the stories they love. These interactions will foster a deeper understanding of narrative techniques, character development, and the writing process, enriching their comprehension and critical thinking skills. By exposing students to various literary voices and genres, Book Break will help cultivate a vibrant reading culture in our school. The program will also support cross-curricular connections, encouraging students to apply their learning in creative projects inspired by the authors works and providing the teachers with access to additional mini lesson videos available on demand on specific curriculum topics. Investing in Book Break will not only enhance our literacy initiatives but also inspire the next generation of readers and writers.
