The Eleventh Hour is an intricately written and illustrated mystery book by Graeme Base. SEARCH students will use critical thinking and collaboration skills to scour through the details in the book’s illustrations and story to determine who stole the main character’s birthday feast. It will take some clever sleuths with an eye for details to deduce the thief’s identity. We currently only have one copy of the book. Solving the clues requires students to look very closely at the book’s illustrations. My students suggested writing a grant so that next year’s classes can have their hands on multiple copies of the book. This will allow students to really zoom in on the illustrations in sharp detail.
