There is a growing body of literature that highlights the benefits of outdoor learning across various domains. We plan to enhance children's learning experience by reforming our outdoor learning center. Items purchased from these grants will allow more learning to be moved outdoors and as a result, students will benefit in the ways listed below. The benefits of outdoor learning align with FISD beliefs #s 1, 7, 9, 11 & 12

Cognitive Development: Research indicates that outdoor learning can enhance cognitive skills and reduce ADHD symptoms in children.
Academic Achievement: students participating in outdoor learning programs showed improved academic performance, particularly in subjects like science and math.
Social Skills and Emotional Well-Being: outdoor learning environments foster social interaction and cooperation among peers, leading to improved social skills and emotional resilience.
Health Benefits: increased outdoor activity can lead to lower obesity rates and better overall fitness in children.
Environmental Awareness: outdoor learning programs can significantly enhance students' environmental literacy and attitudes toward conservation.
Creativity and Problem-Solving: outdoor play and learning enhance creativity, as children engage in imaginative play and complex problem-solving in natural settings.
