Napa in Miami brings some of the most acclaimed Napa Valley vintners together under one roof to serve their finest vintages and offer their best wine experiences to Miami's top business leaders, influencers, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and wine connoisseurs.
Napa in Miami features a Grand Tasting, vintner hosted dining tables and spectacular auction lots - all to benefit CureDuchenne, a leading nonprofit organization whose mission is to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Duchenne is one of the most common and severe forms of muscular dystrophy. It affects roughly 1 in 5,000 male births but sometimes affects females as well. In all cases, Duchenne is caused by mutations in the gene encoding for dystrophin, a protein muscles need to work properly. It is 100% fatal.
MEET OUR EVENT CHAIRS
All around the world 2020 was the year everything turned upside down, but for us, it was the year we confirmed that both our sons, Chase & Dylan are in the earliest stages of a rare disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Duchenne is an aggressive disease that takes the mobility of boys in adolescence and takes their lives in their early twenties. It causes the muscles in their bodies to waste away, beginning with larger muscles in the legs, and later attacking the smaller muscles in the heart and lungs.
As parents we were devastated, but we knew that we must start advocating for them, to give them the best care and to help find a cure. After searching for answers, we found CureDuchenne, a non profit organization started by Debra and Paul Miller, whose own son's diagnosis inspired them to raise money to find a cure. CureDuchenne raises funds to directly support the most promising research in treating and curing the disease.
Although their lives will look different than any of us thought, Chase and Dylan are still just two sweet and loving boys who enjoy swimming in their pool. They are happy, but at 8 and 6 years old, they don't quite understand the challenges they will face.
Please join us on April 5, 2025, for Napa in Miami, and help us in this fight to save not only Chase and Dylan, but the nearly 15,000 boys and young men living with this disease in the US alone.
