Once a cherished kitten, Cloe's journey has taken a heartbreaking turn. Scarred and in pain, she returned to us, her tiny body bearing the marks of previous trauma. Willie: Multiple Surgeries Needed to Let Him Run Again
Meet Willie. A stray, injured puppy who came into us with fractures just above both of his femurs. Each step he took was a reminder to the pain and struggle he faced.
We took him to an orthopedic specialist and it was determined that Willie needs multiple surgeries to repair the damage to his femurs. The two surgeries will each come with an 8-week recovery period. During this time, he will be on cage rest and won't be able to jump or run as he heals. These surgeries and recoveries are quite expensive and even with a discount from the emergency vet, will cost an upwards of $7,000.
Despite the expenses, these surgeries are the only option moving forward to ensure that Willie has a chance to walk normally as he continues to grow. He may still have some issues down the road, but without these surgeries he is going to struggle all his life. Willie deserves to run and play like any other pup, but without surgery, his dreams are limited.
