PIX11 features Hour Children and Hour Mother's Day Luncheon
"We have summer programs within the prisons... children go see their mothers from 9 to 3 to play and do different activities. In a first time in a long time, a mom can say 'See you tomorrow'. That is very rewarding and helps with that bond we're trying to engage."
- Dr. Alethea Taylor, Executive Director

Support Hour Children's Summer Programs
Journey with Hour children and their justice-impacted mothers as they participate in Hour Children's Summer Programs at Bedford Hills & Taconic Correctional Facilities and in Long Island City.
The activities at Bedford Hills and Taconic include week-long visits for children with their mothers, mother-child bonding activities, family hosting of visiting children, and sleep away camp experiences.
In Long Island City the Summer Fun program includes field trips to museums, parks, the local pool, and Randall's Island activities.
Hour programs provide opportunities for children to reunite with their mother, spend time with other children experiencing similar circumstances, foster a sense of security, and promote positive emotional and social development.
