Andee's Army Evening of Hope 2024

Dear All, 

We are thrilled to chair Evening of Hope, Saturday, September 7th, 2024, supporting Andee's Army.  Proceeds from this important (and fun!) event will support patients with brain injury and concussion at Shepherd Center.  Our honoree this year, Dr. Russell Gore, is the Founding Director of the Complex Concussion Clinic and the mild TBI Brain Health and Recovery Laboratory at the Shepherd Center.
 
Brain injuries, particularly concussions, can have a profound impact on children's lives.  Whether on the athletic field or during daily living, concussions affect not only physical health but also cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.  Our honoree this year, Dr. Gore, knows all too well how debilitating concussion and brain injury can be.  Dr. Gore treats patients at risk for protracted recovery after concussion and his research focuses on identifying and treating concussions to decrease the risk of long-term effects.  His goal is to increase awareness of the often-invisible effects of concussion and minimize the impact of these injuries by improving prevention strategies, developing better diagnostic tools and validating treatment methods. 
 
Andee's Army supports this work and other therapies and programs to help children with spinal cord and brain injury recover as fully as possible.  Working with both Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Shepherd Center, they provide specialized grants, technologies, and programs.  The reality is that insurance does not cover many of the therapies and tools these children need and that financial gap can cost children mobility and a chance at a normal life.
 
Our theme this year is "Sea of Hope," and we have an exciting night planned at Flourish!  The gourmet menu will be delicious, and we have the Papa Sol band to get everyone on the dance floor!  It will be an enjoyable evening as we support this important cause. 
 
Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of these children and help Andee's Army strives to empower them with the resources they need to rebuild their lives and pursue their dreams.  We look forward to seeing you September 7th!
