Beautiful artwork collaboration created by local artist Stephanie Hutchinson and Arkansas Children's Hospital Northwest patient Layla, age 3.
ABOUT LAYLA
Layla was treated in the Arkansas Children's Northwest (ACNW) Emergency Department at 9 months old after a severe allergic reaction. Layla's family learned she has life-threatening allergies to eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and sesame. She also suffers from asthma and eczema. Layla's parents say ACNW exceeded their expectations. The nurses make Layla feel special and loved. Layla is still seen biannually at ACNW. Layla is thoughtful, loving and kind, and she loves to dance, sing and do gymnastics.
ABOUT THE ART
This painting incorporates Layla's favorite color pink and reflects her vision for the piece to include butterflies and a rainbow - representing hope, transformation, and beautiful new beginnings. Artist Stephanie Hutchinson provided collaborative support and materials to help Layla bring this joyful painting to life. It reminds us that even after a storm, we can come out stronger than before.
