and special guest Professor Bill Green of Augsburg University.

Mr. Mondale and Professor Green will share their reflections 50 years after

the Voting Rights act and their perspectives on the current social and political upheaval facing our nation today.

Gary Eichten, MPR News Editor-at-Large and Retired Host will lead the discussion.


The event also includes scenes from History Theatre's regional premiere of The Great Society.

The Great Society

1965. 1966. 1967.1968. Lyndon B. Johnson has just been elected to a second term. Dr. King's "March on Selma" is at the forefront as LBJ battles to pass historic legislation on health care, education, poverty, the Voting Rights Act--and then, there's the growing specter of Vietnam. as the election of 1968 grows near, Robert "Bobby" Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy, and Hubert H. Humphrey all make a run for the White House.
