JRLA Annual Auction

All students do not have equal access to a quality education. Despite major strides toward educational equity, our country still faces an opportunity gap. An education should not be defined by socioeconomic background, abilities or zip code! This is why Jalen Rose founded the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy - an open enrollment, tuition free, public charter high school in his hometown of Detroit.

Our mission is to empower all scholars to develop the strength of character, skills, and knowledge needed to matriculate, be great in, and graduate from college so that they have opportunities to be successful in the competitive world and take care of themselves and the people that they love.

Focused on a 9-16 model, our College Success Team works ceaselessly with current scholars and alumni to provide college counseling and support to not only make sure they graduate from high school, but college as well - outcomes that are real game changers in urban education.   JRLA currently ranks third for open enrollment high schools in the City of Detroit for college enrollment and first for college persistence.

All children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level, which starts with a great education. Unfortunately, funding a public charter high school is not an easy task, especially in Detroit where state funding is limited which causes an annual budget gap. In addition, unlike traditional public schools, charter schools do not receive funding to purchase, lease, or improve facilities. This causes financial challenges that can limit the charter school's ability to provide appropriate accommodations.

To financially support both the transformational educational opportunities for our scholars, and to provide the necessary facilities to house these unique programs, we need to fundraise!  Our annual online auction will run August 10th (9am ET) through August 31st (7pm ET)! To enter your credit card information, either bid on an item or follow the instructions on the text message you will receive within 24-48 hours after registering. Shipping charges will be added to items as noted.

In addition, we are also hosting our 8th Annual JRLA Celebrity Golf Classic and Red Carpet Gala August  26-27th.  Tickets for the gala are still available and can be purchased above.
