The 2017 Milwaukee Concours d'Elegance has changed to a new date and is now the weekend of Aug. 5 & 6. It remains at Veterans Park, on Milwaukee's scenic lakefront. The weekend includes Saturday's Show & Glow by the Lake, a celebration of all things motorized and open to any vehicle, there is a driving tour along lake drive for Sunday Concours vehicles, Saturday evening's Style & Speed Social, and Sunday's Concours d'Elegance.
On Saturday, we host our popular Show & Glow by the Lake, a casual celebration of all things motorized bringing over 300 entries - a completely separate roster of fantastic vehicles than those seen on Sunday. This event brings a wide range of vehicles and some marque clubs hold their annual judging meets in conjunction with it.
The Style & Speed Social on Saturday evening is open to all, including exhibitors, sponsors, concours judges and vehicle aficionados. Enjoy a relaxing evening of good food and libations, a silent auction, and opportunities for networking for all who enjoy the art and beauty of automobiles and antique boats. Meet several of the owners of the cars that will be on the show field on Sunday along with this year's special guest, Wayne Carini.
For the Sunday Concours d'Elegance, up to 150 unique motorcars are invited to gather along the lake to celebrate the best in automotive history. The park along the water offers a wide open area rather than crowded into a small space, giving a very relaxed experience. Attendees can expect to see award-winning vehicles, from countries as far as Italy, Switzerland and Canada, as well as the four corners of the United States.
This year's concours takes a look at technology with a feature of "Speed - Then and Now" which compares the original super cars such as Duesenberg, Stutz and Mercer to the ultimate supercars of today, including the all new Ford GT. We are also looking at the early days of alternative power such as electric and steam. But style has not been forgotten with featured classes of Edsel and Rolls-Royce.
Since the event's inception, together we have donated nearly $250,000 to improve the lives of children and families and are very pleased to see our outlook for giving will continue to grow.
Winning bidders not attending Saturday night's Style & Speed Social may pick up their items at the concours on Sunday at the Main Entrance Tent prior to 3 p.m. Or shipping of items may be arranged at winning bidders expense. Some exclusions apply. With the exception of Saturday specific items, the auction will close and bidding will end promptly at 8:45 p.m. CST on Saturday, August 5th.
