God, Grief and Glue

Could be a catchy business name…or three words that sum up the last few years of local Leipers Fork artist, Lindsey Druse. In the summer of 2020, Druse lost her mom to lung cancer. While processing this enormous sadness, she began using ripped paper art as a form of grief therapy. Lindsey creates chickens and roosters because her mom collected chickens as a hobby. Kroger and Trader Joe's brown paper bags are painted and then ripped up in tiny pieces to create feathers. Each paper feather is glued on individually by hand. Somewhere in all of that gluing and ripping paper, there is a peace for which she is grateful. Proving once again that God uses everything… even brown paper bags that are ripped and glued back together to find the beauty in the brokenness. This is Lindsey's second year participating in the Angel Blanket silent auction.

Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted. John 6:12
