Public Art Walking Tour with Renee Piechocki and James Simon

Scheduled for: Sunday, September 15, 2024, 1 pm - 4 pm

Join public art fangirl Renee Piechocki for a jaunt through the Lower Hill District and Uptown to experience the new park and artworks by Dr. Kimberly Ellis, Jann-Rosen Queralt, Lakesha Byrd, and Amir Rashidd at Frankie Pace Park (CAP).

Afterward, stroll downhill to visit Uptown Rhythm by James Simon on the facade of a parking garage at Duquesne University. We'll continue along Forbes Avenue to UPMC Mercy Pavilion to see the new commissions by Shervone Neckles, Susan Narduli, and Kipp Kobayashi. We'll round out our afternoon with some refreshments in the bamboo garden of James Simon, having a chance to visit his studio and see the mosaic he is creating for a project in Cleveland.

In total, this walking tour will be an approximate 2-mile loop. There will be frequent stops. Expect hills and some uneven Pittsburgh sidewalks.
