Tucked away in the hills 20 minutes from the town of Cortona (locale of Under the Tuscan Sun), is Borgo di Vagli, a 32-acre hamlet of 11 rustic, beautiful stone dwellings dating from the 14th century. It is what you imagine when you think of Tuscany - tranquil and lovely. Upon his first visit to Borgo di Vagli, architect Fulvio Di Rosa became consumed with the "bug to make it live again," and he dedicated the next ten years to seeing his vision through to completion. The hamlet retains its authentic medieval feel, while at the same time providing modern-day comfort with updated kitchen appliances, television, and Wi-Fi.

This intimate two-bedroom residence sleeps five, with one queen bed, two twin/singles, and one sleeper sofa, and there are two bathrooms. Original 14th-century doorways and windows are cut through thick stonewalls, and inside you will find authentic rural furnishings, Tuscan antiques, terra cotta floors, and exposed wooden beam ceilings. There is a candlelit trattoria on the premises, and dinner is offered on six of the nights. Dina, the chef, grew up in the hamlet, and the food is authentic, delicious Tuscan cuisine. At the trattoria there is an opportunity to meet the other guests and exchange travel tales and recommendations while sharing homemade limoncello and other spirits. There is also a beautiful pool on the premises. The staff could not be more welcoming - they are fluent in English and anxious to provide you with the type of experience you desire, whether it is visiting historical sites, shopping, visiting wineries, or just relaxing. There are many hiking trails around the property, and the hamlet's location makes it perfect for day trips to Florence, Siena, Cortona, Deruta, Montepulciano, Orvieto, and Montalcino.

The winner of this package will receive a 1-week stay at Borgo di Vagli. The winning bidder provides four alternative weeks in 2025, and in December 2024 winner will be notified which of the weeks is available.
