Description of the Piece: Based on vintage post cards, this piece portrays Japanese geisha, and despite the typical connotation, true geisha were highly trained in dance, music, and various forms of art. The calm expression in their faces was part of their allure, as their rigorous training was designed to create a presence of subtlety, strength and grace.

Artist Bio: Patty Kennedy-Zafred creates thought-provoking narratives using dyes, silkscreens, and ink to develop a visual dialogue with the viewer.
