Project: "The Dots by Kindergarten Artists"

Description: Kindergarten artists created the dots at the beginning of the school year using oil pastels and watercolors. We first read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and discussed what to do when we are afraid of trying something new or believe that we are not good at art.

"Just give it a try, and maybe the ideas will come to you!"

Each student created a dot with oil pastel paint and filled the blank space with watercolor. As they filled the canvas, they learned that not being good at something the first time doesn't mean that you will never be able to achieve it. And you never know what beauty can unfold if you stick with it.

Supplies for class projects in collaboration with the faculty were paid for by HWISPA-NY. This item will be on display at the gala.
