Welcome to Sikaville!

Winner will be hosted by NCC Vice President of Washington Operations Robbie Minnich at the Sawmill Rod and Gun Club in Church Creek Maryland for 2 days of hunting and 3 nights stay.

This trip includes transportation to/from DC area airports, lodging and meals.

This unique opportunity will allow the winner to hunt for a female Maryland Sika Deer (cervus nippon); one of the only wild populations in the country - even in Maryland they are only in a few counties and predominately in the southern part of the county where the club is located.

Maryland sika deer are Japanese mini elk and were introduced into Maryland in the very early 1900's. The popularity of sika deer hunting in Maryland has increased markedly over the last decade following Youtube videos and being featured on two episodes of MeatEater.

The challenge of the hunt, their uniqueness as a trophy, and the excellent flavored venison they provide, has resulted in a steadily increasing harvest.

Hunters interested in pursuing the elusive sika will find the field-dressed weights of yearling females to average 45lbs. Hunting occurs from box stands and can be during bow, muzzleloader or rifle season at a mutually agreeable time.
