For the film buff or budding Hollywood star! Lunch with actor, writer, and director Tom Lennon in Los Angeles and then time with his behind the scenes fabulous sister Meggan Lennon (currently opening a movie at Sundance with Jodie Foster as this is being written!). Head to LA where Meggan and Tom, who happen to be cousins of the Gainer sisters, will share their decades of experience in the industry! Dates will be set at a mutually agreeable time. Chicago dates can be an option as well as they often visit the city.
Thomas Lennon is a writer and actor from Oak Park, Illinois. He attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he was a member of the influential sketch comedy group The State. The State's hit television series ran on MTV for three seasons and received an Ace Award nomination for best comedy series. After his work on The State, he and his writing partner, Robert Ben Garant, created Reno 911!, on which he also played Lieutenant Jim Dangle. As an actor, Lennon has appeared in the films Transformers: Age of Extinction, The Dark Knight Rises, Le Divorce, Heights, Conversations with Other Women, Memento, 17 Again, I Love You, Man, Cedar Rapids, Knight of Cups, Bad Teacher, Harold and Kumar 3D and What to Expect When You're Expecting. On television he has been seen in How I Met Your Mother, Sean Saves the World, The Odd Couple, Drunk History, The Santa Clarita Diet and Lethal Weapon. Lennon and Garant have written numerous feature films together, including Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Reno 911!: Miami, The Pacifier, Balls of Fury and Hell Baby. In addition to writing films, Lennon and Garant co-authored, Writing Movies for Fun and Profit, a book about the studio system that Anna Kendrick called ""The Best Book about Hollywood... Hilarious and insanely accurate.""
As a writer and producer and actress, Meggan Lennon believes in the power of storytelling and civic engagement to bring about change in the world. Her love of filmmaking blossomed while working with the legendary team at Merchant Ivory Films. Recently, Meggan produced Ann, the true story of a 15-year-old girl that shook Ireland to its core. Meggan has enjoyed collaborating with Director Mike Cahill on several projects, including Another Earth, and has produced Carry Me, One Life (Showtime) and By The People: The Election of Barack Obama (HBO). Meggan has always been interested in the personal stories that make up our collective history. She volunteers with Scenarios USA, a non-profit that fosters self-expression in teens in underserved communities through filmmaking. Currently Meggan is working with Director Alex Hedison and Jodie Foster on a documentary about trans-activist and poet, Alok Vaid-Menon. Meggan lives in Los Angeles with her husband, musican Craig Wedren and her son.
